For over a decade, Shonto Ranch was a private family ranch
groomed and managed to create a special environment of green pastures, big
bucks, and lunker fish. In October of 2000, we opened the ranch to guided
hunting, fishing, and camera safari adventures. Until that time, only
eight mature whitetail bucks were taken, allowing for the development of an
outstanding trophy whitetail population. Shonto Ranch is now the perfect
Texas hill country whitetail ranch - and our customers agree. Read more
about our whitetail hunting in our Whitetail Section.
The population of exotic animals has also been grown and supplemented over
time, giving the ranch a large and diverse number of Texas exotics, including a
world class axis deer population. Read more about our exotics hunting in
our Exotics Section.

As well, the rarely fished waters were protected by a strict
catch and release program that quickly grew some monster trophies. From
bass to catfish to winter trout fishing, Shonto offers year-round freshwater
fishing of the highest caliber in the area. Read more about our fishing
opportunities in our Fishing Section. Fishing
is complimentary to our hunting guests.
We offer guided hunts for trophy whitetail deer and exotics, and guided &
unguided freshwater fishing trips for largemouth bass, catfish, and rainbow
trout across four miles of crystal clear, rock bottomed hill country creek
water that winds through our hunting areas. Our hunting guests enjoy
exclusive access to our special ranch and benefit from our regimented
supplemental feed and management plan.

Non hunting and fishing guests can still enjoy the scenery
the ranch has to offer by taking a camera safari through Shonto Ranch, stopping
at various lakes and ridgelines for picture-taking opportunities. This is
perfect for the naturalist or casual nature lover. Read more about our
camera safari tours in our Camera Safari Section.
