Holiday Family Hunting

The winter holidays are by far our most popular Hunts that we offer at Shonto Ranch. It all starts with the Thanksgiving weekend when families and friends come together to enjoy a family deer hunt with all the kids, moms, dads and even the grandparents get in on the fun. Thanksgiving weekend hunts usually marks the first hard freeze of the year and the Whitetail Deer Rut and also marks the start of our Trophy Rainbow Trout Fishing season. We typically book this weekend exclusively to one family. We have private housing and can accommodate up to 15 people, if your group is over 15 we can accommodate more of your guest 8 minutes away in downtown Kerrville.

Family Holiday Hunt on Scimitar Oryx Hunt

Roughly 25 days later the Christmas Holiday break starts and kids are out of school for roughly 2 weeks and is a great time to load up the kids and family for that family bonding hunting trip in the Texas Hill Country. Shonto Ranch is the perfect destination to get your family out in the outdoors and creating those memories of a lifetime. These dates usually start 4 days before Christmas and continue through the New Year. We typically don’t hunt Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, but we are open and ready to hunt all others. We have experienced guides that are family oriented and skilled at teaching younger less experienced hunters.
