Buffalo hunting is one of the most iconic hunts that can be done in the United States synonymously known as a truly unique American animal. Also known as American Bison were hunted close to extinction back in the 19th century for their prized meat and fur. They’ve made a great comeback in population over the years due to conservation measures by ranchers. Buffalo hunts or Bison Hunts in Texas have become very popular and have thrived in numbers and are very challenging. Be prepared to bring lots of coolers for some of the best meat on the planet and with a low-fat content is very healthy. Our Trophy Buffalo Bulls will be 1,600-2,000 pounds and the hair is best through the cooler months of the year, but can also be hunted in warmer months as well. Buffalo hunts in Texas will require larger Caliber sizes due to their massive size and recommend 30 caliber and above. Buffalo meat can also be professionally butchered and package locally and shipped to all states in the lower 48.
