Shonto Ranch is home to some of the best Sika Deer Hunts in the state of Texas and our hunting guests consistently shoot Trophy Class Sika Deer year after year. In addition to their magnificent antlers that are typically 10 pointers and sometimes more, there meat is highly prized by many of our exotic hunters and chefs across the country. Many of our Sika Deer will make it into the record book and some will be Gold Medal Sika Deer for the record book.
There are 4 different species of Sika, Dybowski’s Sika, Japanese Sika, Manchurian Sika, and Formosan Sika that now preside on Exotic Hunting Ranches in Texas. Almost all of the Sika Deer in Texas today is a mixture of all of the 4 species and are usually called “Common Sika Deer”. The best time to hunt Sika Deer is in late September and October, this is when they are just rubbing out of velvet and starting their mating, so book your Trophy Sika Deer Hunt early and get a Trophy of a Lifetime.

Animals that are wounded will be charged the same fees as if killed.
Skinning & Quarter is $50 per animal.
